"We know that a balanced diet is key to good health, but very few people eat enough fruit and vegetables," said researchers from Australia's George Institute.
For this study, 50 patients with type 2 diabetes were selected and given a healthy diet for 12 weeks.

The researchers said the results prove that eating a good diet improves the health of diabetic patients.
