The Punjab Central Business District Development Authority (PCBDDE), also known as the Central Business District (CBD Punjab), has awarded the contract for the construction of the CBD boulevard and the renovation of the Kalma Chowk underpass to the government agency National Logistics. passed to Cell (NLC). PCBDDA Technical Director Riaz Hussain said, “After completing all the necessary formalities, we awarded the contract to NLC. The authority also invited two other government bodies National Construction Company (NCC) and Frontier Works Organization (FWO). He added that the contract was awarded to NLC at a cost of Rs 4.218 billion.
The authority has allocated a budget of approximately 5 billion rupees for the reconstruction of the CBD boulevard and the Kalma Chowk underpass. The 365-meter-long boulevard will be built in two phases in 180 days. The project will provide a signal-free corridor from Barkat Market and Alizeb Road to Jail Road. The master plan is designed to ensure ease of inbound and outbound traffic in Pakistan's first commercial district.
Expressing his views on the project, Imran Amin, CEO, PCBDDA said that this project will be a big milestone in the development of Punjab. Together we will turn this dream into reality. NLC has sufficient capacity to complete this project within the stipulated time. DGNLC Major General Yusuf Jamal said that the award of this contract is a moment of great pride for us that NLC has once again been chosen to play its role in national development.
