ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif visited some of the flood-ravaged areas in the southern province of Sindh as a massive flood engulfed a large area of ​​the country and has already claimed more than 1,300 lives.

Interacting with the media, the Prime Minister said that parts of the country looked like a "sea". He said the extent of the destruction was shocking, he said there was water everywhere as far as the eye could see.


He further announced that he would speed up the process of distributing money to the victims and pledged tents to accommodate displaced families.


The prime minister said trillions of rupees would be needed to deal with such a calamity as the country began to be battered by months of the worst flooding to hit the South Asian nation in a decade.


To date, nearly 1,343 people have died, including nearly 400 minors, the country's disaster management office revealed.


Balochistan, Sindh and KP remain the most affected areas ok hammad bhai. UNHCR officials warned that with further showers expected in the near future, the situation could worsen further.
